Bilingual singer-songwriter or “chanteuse” from the Acadian region of Pubnico, Nova Scotia, 2006 ECMA nominee (“Mes deux souliers”) and Music Nova Scotia award nominee for Francophone recording of the Year, Yvette’s music embodies her passion for love, life, culture, and music. She is versatile both as a performer and keyboard player. Her songs are passionate, evocative, tender, moving, soulful and intense. Yvette wants to “move” people with her music in the same way that she is impacted by its emotional power. Her lyrics transport you to the sea and back, to loves lost and won, to family bonds, melancholic memories and cultural traditions.
A French, music, drama teacher as well as playwright/director, Yvette has written over 20 plays, and musical shows. She has brought her music to festivals and other special events across the Maritime Provinces and has appeared on television and radio shows. She has performed with Symphony Nova Scotia (2003 and 2004), has toured with the Maritime Forces Stadacona Band , and brought her music to France. Yvette released her debut, self-titled CD in the fall of 2002. In May 2007, her version of "C'est si bon" was used as part of the United Nations’ World Food Program in their ad campaign, and was released in Europe. Her music is distributed by Panda Digital in the USA. In May 2009, she produced and directed the highly acclaimed French musical production, Roméo et Juliette, an internationally-known musical by French composer, Gérard Presgurvic. The musical was staged to 5 sold-out shows at Th’YARC Playhouse in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia.

Yvette's new album: La voix de la mer
Her latest release is “La voix de la mer”, an original French musical, which she began writing in 2011. The music delivers a powerful and moving story about the sea and its people. A year and a half in the making (recorded at Feswick Productions), this epic album features 20 original tracks, with incredible performances by the cast and musicians, and a final reprise by Yvette, showcasing her sweet, melodic vocals. A labor of love, La voix de la mer is the epitome of Yvette’s signature sound: beautifully orchestrated songs, rich in melodies and hooks, building into a burst of emotions while tugging at your heartstrings. The show opened on April 18th, 2013 and ran until April 27th. The success of La voix de la mer has been astounding and has received critical acclaim from key players in the music industry. A complete studio version CD was released on April 18th, 2013, and is now available online at CD Baby , ITunes and Amazon.
In August 2014, Yvette and her cast travelled to Saint-Aubin-sur-mer, in France, to showcase her musical, and perfrom in various musical events throughout the week of "La semaine acadienne".
She is currently freelances as a drama consultant for the schools. In addition, she is working on 2 new theatrical productions, as well as other musical projects planned for 2019-2020.
